Unlike the other tares, the calyx teeth of Hairy Tare are equal in length and as long as or slightly longer than the calyx tube, as you can see here. Also the calyx and stem are hairy - hence the other name "Hairy Tare" - Smooth Tare is instead hairless, hence "Smooth"!.

Only has two seeds to the pods making them look fatter and shorter than the longer pods of Smooth Tare (which have around 4 seeds in). These are young pods as they are still quite flat, they become fatter as the seeds grow within.

More highly developed seed pods - they go from being relatively flat (when the seeds are small), to podgy like this when the seeds are riper. They are hairy unlike Smooth Tare.
